effortless ski travel

Traditional ski cases are difficult to maneuver in airports, requiring diagonal dragging that adds weight strain and limits mobility, and they must be stored horizontally in hotel rooms. Tramline tasked us with creating a premium four-wheel case that glides upright, stays stable, and accommodates skis, poles, helmets, jackets, and boots without compromising usability.

balancing performance and manufacturability

I led the design of both the exterior hardshell and interior softgoods, iterating on materials, form, and packing arrangements. Full-scale prototypes tested handles, wheels, and ergonomics, while custom wheels and carefully chosen materials balanced durability, functionality, and a refined aesthetic. Collaboration with manufacturing ensured the design intent translated accurately to production.

launching a first generation product

The final case achieves both stability and visual distinction. A gentle taper toward the top reduces perceived top-heaviness, a stiff side handle improves maneuverability, and recessed front handles in a diamond-shaped contour reinforce ergonomics and brand identity. Subtle debossed branding on the back strengthens the shell while creating a cohesive, premium look, delivering a suitcase that is functional, durable, and unmistakably Tramline.
